As part of the AI Community of Practice festive competition, Activate AI partner LEMA Logic developed a voice-based AI application designed to create a real, positive experience for local families. 

Designed and built in just a few days, the SantaCalls.ai platform showcases how AI can be applied quickly, responsibly, and creatively to deliver meaningful experiences when supported by the right environment and expertise: It is free to use, family-friendly, and accessible on any browser-enabled device, making it easy for families across the Island to take part.

Parents also have the option to receive a follow-up email summarising the conversation and capturing their child’s Christmas wish list — turning a fun interaction into a lasting keepsake. The project reflects a broader theme seen throughout Activate AI: using practical experimentation to build confidence, capability, and understanding of AI in everyday contexts.

SantaCalls.ai: Magical Conversations for Children

While seasonal in nature, SantaCalls.ai provides a practical example of how AI can be applied responsibly, transparently, and positively — principles that sit at the heart of the Activate AI programme.

SantaCalls.ai the AI-powered platform lets children have a real-time conversation with Santa Claus! The platform is free, family-friendly, and works on any browser-enabled device, making it easy for families to join the festive fun. With an option for parents to receive a summary email, including a Christmas wish list, the AI feature turns the conversation into a memorable and unique keepsake.

By combining technical innovation with clear safeguards, ethical considerations, and real-world impact, the project demonstrates how AI can enhance everyday experiences whilst building trust and confidence in new technologies.

Supporting Local Businesses

What makes SantaCalls.ai even more special is its community-first approach. Using country-based routing, visitors from the Isle of Man are directed to Google searches tailored to on-Island businesses, helping to promote local vendors.

It’s a perfect example of technology meeting tradition — bringing modern innovation to strengthen the island’s economy and festive spirit.
