Gamesys Foundation supports Isle of Man charity Motiv8

31 July 2021

Gamesys Foundation, the independent charity created and funded by Gamesys Group plc, has awarded a three-year grant of £150,000 to Motiv8 to support its work with families and young people on the Isle of Man. The Group started operating on the Island in November last year and the Foundation was keen to support a local charity.

The grant will help provide counselling, advice, education and mental health services to those who are affected by addiction, either directly or indirectly through a friend or family member. The services are available for any type of addiction, including alcohol, drugs and gambling, and are provided free of charge.

Welcoming the donation, Motiv8 CEO Thea Ozenturk said: “This generous grant from the Gamesys Foundation will cover a significant proportion of the funding we need to raise each year to provide our services. It is especially welcome after the increase in demand we have seen due to the covid lockdowns.”

Ben Wood , Managing Director, Gamesys Isle of Man said: “We are delighted that the Gamesys Foundation is supporting Motiv8 and the valuable work it carries out on the Isle of Man. The Foundation Trustees were keen to support a suitable local initiative following the opening of the new Gamesys Group office on the island.

“In particular, we are proud to be associated with a charity that supports the main focus of the Foundation, which is to preserve and protect the wellbeing of individuals suffering from mental health issues, and we will also be working closely with Motiv8 to see how we can offer practical support.”
